Introduction

Roleplaying on the Herofest discord is a really good way to get to know your character, and strengthen some in-character bonds. While there is plot on discord, generally speaking, what happens on discord does not affect the main game. Any major changes to your character, money earnt, quests completed are only for the story. no XP can be earned, or other in-game benefits like renown.

Roleplaying

Roleplaying is done through a text-based medium. There are a few conventions.

  • Setting up your server name: Please set your Discord server name in the form of: Character (Real First Name)
  • Please ensure you have chosen your faction correctly, as this will give you access to special discord rooms only your character can see.
  • Character Actions: Italics are used when your character is doing something, or to convey information , like a facial expression. Your character can 'walk' into the main courtyard, and then describe what it's doing other characters will respond. Italics are done with * at the beginning and end of the message.
  • Multiple Characters: Some people have multiple characters. If you are playing a character who is not your 'main' character (That is, first one listed in your name list), please let people know with square brackets []
  • Storytellers will preface their actions with [The World] so you know it's part of the descriptive support to the story.

The best way to get involved is to dive in.
